Shepard scored his third straight NCRA victory at Dodge City.
What won the race: Leading all 25 laps, polesitter Lyle Shepard of Manhattan, Kan., stayed perfect in National Championship Racing Association action, crossing the finish line 10 car lengths ahead of runner-up finisher Jimmy Segraves of Wichita, Kan., for his third straight tour victory at Dodge City Raceway Park. He earned a $1,000 payday.
Quotable: “I wouldn’t have dreamed this," Shepard said of his perfect start to the NCRA season. "There are a lot of cars out here that can win on any given night.”
Key notes: Shepard's previous tour victories came back in May at Thunder Hill Speedway and 81 Speedway Park. ... The race was slowed by one caution on lap 14 when Dan Smith slowed in turn two. ...
