What won the race: Second-starting Jon Mitchell of Texarkana, Texas, raced to a P&W Sales Southern United Professional Racing Series victory over fellow front-row starter Allen Tippen of Minden, La., in the Stars & Strips Shootout. Mitchell pocketed $2,000 for his 20th career SUPR triumph.
Key notes: Mitchell tied Howard Willis on the tour's all-time wins list with his 20th victory; his lone previous 2016 SUPR victory came May 28 at Boothill Speedway in Greenwood, La. ... Mitchell also won both of the tour's 2015 stops at Timberline; the track hosted it's lone SUPR event of the season. ... Ray Moore, a former series winner at Timberline, scratched before the feature.
