SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Live blog-style updates from Thursday’s UMP DIRTcar Summernationals stop at Springfield Raceway, the 12th stop on the tour featuring a $5,000-to-win program for Super Late Models (results unofficial):
Rained out
Off-and-one showers that got heavier rained out Thursday's UMP DIRTcar Summernationals stop at Springfield Raceway. No information on a makeup date was immediately announced.
Just before 6:30 p.m. hot laps, a light shower that got heavier for about 10 minutes hit the racetrack. A few ore sprinkles hit over the next 90 minutes before rain eventually forced officials to call the event.

Pre-race setup
The UMP DIRTcar Summernationals tour travels to its first new stop of the season with a $5,000-to-win event at Springfield Raceway, a southwestern Missouri quarter-mile oval that frequently hosts events on the DIRTcar-sanctioned MARS DIRTcar Series.
Series points leader Bobby Pierce of Oakwood, Ill., winner of six races in 11 starts and holding a commanding points leader, leads touring competitors to Springfield fresh off a Wednesday victory at Belle-Clair Speedway in Belleville, Ill. Jason Feger of Bloomington, Ill., and Ryan Unzicker of El Paso, Ill., Pierce’s closest pursuers in the points chase, were second and third at Belle-Clair.
Springfield is the 11th Missouri track to host the series. Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo., has been a long-time regular Summernationals track while events have also been held at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon; State Fair Speedway in Sedalia; I-44 Speedway in Lebanon; Poplar Bluff Speedway; Montgomery County Speedway in New Florence; West Plains (Mo.) Motor Speedway; Missouri International Speedway in Benton; St. Francois County Raceway in Farmington; and St. Charles Speedway.
There’ll be three groups of qualifying with three heats and 40-lap main event.
