Chad Ogle gets rolling before his $5,000 victory at Tazewell.
What won the race: Polesitter Chad Ogle of Knoxville, Tenn., scored a flag-to-flag victory in the 40-lap Ironman Mountain Championship feature at Tazewell Speedway. He beat third-starting David Payne to the finish line for the $5,000 paycheck.
Key notes: Payne challenged Ogle for the lead in the final laps but had to settle for second place. ... The race was slowed by three cautions. ... Steve Smith brought out the first caution on lap 21 when he slowed while running second. ... A multi-car pileup on the lap-21 restart kept the event under yellow-flag conditions. ... The final caution flag came on lap 29. ... Vic Hill was among those involved in the lap-21 tangle, but he was able to keep going to finish fourth — one spot ahead of Canadian Ricky Weiss, who drove Hill's second car.
On the move: Terry Wolfenbarger started 14th and finished eighth.
Winner's sponsors: Ogle's Rocket Chassis is sponsored by Geo Services and Geotechnical & Materials Engineers.
Points chase: Entering the event, Greg Johnson of Bedford, Ind., led the series points.
