Hunter Rasdon (R5) works around Jimmy Cliburn (88) at Jackson.
What won the race: Winning his second series event in as many nights, Hunter Rasdon of Jonesboro, Ark., overtook polesitter Jimmy Cliburn on the seventh lap and led the rest of the way for a Comp Cams Super Dirt Series victory in the tour's first visit to Jackson. His series-leading fourth victory paid $2,000.
Quotable: “I’ve been real good here in a modified in the past, but I’ve never been able to get a good run in a Late Model at this place, so this win means a lot,” said Rasdon. “I could see Beard getting his nose under me on some of those restarts, but I knew once I got my momentum built around the top that I would be fine.”
Key notes: Rasdon, who started third at Jackson, also won the previous night at Greenville (Miss.) Speedway. He has six career series victories and four in 2016. ... In a race slowed by three mid-race caution flags, Kyle Beard reached second place after a lap-15 restart and briefly challenged Rasdon but ultimately finished a straightaway behind the winner. ... Rain hit before heat races, causing a 90-minute delay.
On the move: Jack Sullivan of Greenbrier, Ark., started 19th and finished fifth for Larry Shaw Race Cars Hard Charger honors.
Winner's sponsors: Rasdon's Black Diamond Chassis is powered by a Jay Dickens-built engine and carries sponsorship from Brown Brothers Farms, Baker Welman Brown Insurance and Financial Services, Case Baker Implement, Agrigold, JigEsigns, Keyser Mfg. and All-Star Perfomance.
Points chase: Entering the tripleheader, Kyle Beard had 1,385 points to lead Hunter Rasdon (1,379) and Jack Sullivan (1,346).
