Casey Roberts swept the Southern All Star weekend in Georgia.
What won the race: Completing a sweep of the tour's Georgia weekend, Casey Roberts of Toccoa, Ga., earned a $4,000 Southern All Star victory Sunday at Cochran Motor Speedway. Roberts took the lead from Jimmy Sharpe Jr. on the ninth lap and cruised to victory. Hunter Peacock dropped Sharpe to third in the final laps.
Quotable: "(Early in the race) I just had to trick the pedals ... down here in (turns) three and four I just had to figure out how to drive it. It was just still tight," Roberts said. "But we just had to keep the right-front loaded a little bit with the brake there on the three-wheel brake, but it worked out good. Once I figured out how to drive the thing, we were pretty good there."
Key notes: Roberts won the previous night at Senoia Raceway. ... Roberts also won at Cochran on the tour's opening weekend and has three series victories in 2016. ... Runner-up Hunter Peacock, who made steering adjustments early in the night, caught in the infield concrete early in the feature, hampering his ride. ... Fast qualifier and third-place finisher Jimmy Sharpe Jr.'s team was weary after an engine change from the previous night's racing; he was using a limited powerplant. ... Riley Hickman and Jordy Nipper had first-lap spins requiring complete restarts. ... Jim Rogers slowed for a late yellow.
Winner's sponsors: Roberts's Jim and Ann Cushman-owned Longhorn Chassis is powered by a Custom Race Engine and carries sponsorship from Cushman Paint & Body, Hoosier Racing Tire, M&S Concrete, Schaeffer Oil, Bad Boy Buggies, VP Racing Fuels and Schaeffer Oil.
Points chase: Three-time and reigning champ Riley Hickman leads SAS points over Brad Skinner.
