Tyler County's 50-50 winner split earnings with Mason Zeigler.
What won the race: Gaining a dose of redemption from a penalty levied by officials 24 hours earlier, Mason Zeigler of Chalk Hill, Pa., stormed to a $5,000 victory in the 50-lap Earl Hill Memorial Super Late Model finale of the Mega 100 weekend at Tyler County Speedway. Zeigler, who had to restart at the rear of Friday night's Topless 100 after officials deemed he caused Michael Lake of Uniontown, Pa., to spin as they battled for second place, passed Lake for the lead on lap 28 in the weekend's headline race and never looked back en route to beating the 15-year-old up-and-comer by 1.520 seconds.
Key notes: Zeigler scored his first win in his family-owned car since his Feb. 13 Lucas Oil Series triumph at Florida's East Bay Raceway Park, but he steered Bryan Klinedinst's No. 43A to a checkered flag on July 3 at Pennsylvania's Dog Hollow Speedway. ... Friday's Topless 100 winner Tim Dohm, who was eligible for a $2,000 bonus from ASI Sportswear if he swept the doubleheader, finished fifth. ... Brandon Weigle won the FASTRAK Crate Late Model feature for his first career win. ... Late Model driver D.J. Cline captured the $4,000 Renegades of Dirt Modified headliner.
Winner's sponsors: Zeigler's No. 25z Longhorn chassis is powered by a Pro Power Race Engine and is sponsored by Ohiopyle Vacation Rentals, ISI Insurance Services, Arizona Sport Shirts, Oldmill Farms, Stone House Restaurant and Hoosier Racing Tire.
Points chase: Entering the weekend, Derek Doll leads the track point standings (115 points) over Kyle Thomas (95).
