What won the race: Inheriting the pole after a competitor scratched, Stephen Brantley of Monroeville, Ala., led all 35 laps at Flomaton Speedway on the Southeastern Crate Series. He took the checkers ahead of series points leader Cody Smith of Holt, Fla.
Key notes: Runner-up Cody Smith was part of a first-lap tangle with Justin McRee and Larry Havens in turn one; Havens and McRee retired. ... Late arrival Vic Dolohite, starting on the tail of the feature in his first race of the season, spun on the eighth lap, then hit the turn-three wall on lap 27 and retired. ... Seven drivers completed 35 laps and Gary Maher was a lap down in eighth as the final driver still running at the finish. ... Heat winner Joseph Joiner was slated to start on the pole, but scratched from the main event because of a blown head gasket. ... Mike Boland initially planned to scratch with motor problems, but he started and finished 10th. ... NASCAR legend Red Farmer of the famed Alabama Gang was expected to compete, but a crash two days earlier at Talladega left his No. F97 too badly damaged to compete.
