Bob Gardner picked up a $2,000 victory at Fairbury.
What won the race: Bob Gardner of East Peoria, lll., raced to his first career Sunoco American Late Model series victory over Rich Bell of Sheffield, lll., in front of the Fairbury American Legion Speedway faithful, pocketing $2,000 for his efforts.
Key notes: Gardner is the tour's third consecutive first-time winner, joining Billy Moyer Jr. and Ryan Markham. ... The series hasn't seen a repeat winner in its last 10 events. ... The ALMS made its second and final 2016 visit to Fairbury. ... Kevin Weaver won another Late Model feature, a makeup from a May 28 rainout.
