What won the race: Wrapping up his fourth track title (and second stretch of back-to-back championships), Kevin Weaver of Gibson City, Ill., led all 40 laps Saturday at Fairbury (Ill.) American Legion Speedway for a $3,000 UMP DIRTcar victory. Weaver took the checkers 3.472 seconds ahead of Mike Spatola, who also finished second to Weaver in the points chase.
Key notes: Weaver won his eighth Late Model feature at FALS this season. ... Before last season, Weaver also won 1988 and '89 titles at his home track. ... Fairbury hosted the 40-lapper on the undercard of the 4th annual Casey's Modified Nationals. ... The event closed out the season at Fairbury.
