What won the race: Rallying from his 13th starting spot to overcome a wall-banging qualifying run, Chris Ferguson of Mount Holly, N.C., overtook Johnny Pursley of Clover, S.C., on the 38th of 40 laps for his second straight series victory and third in a row overall. Pursley finished 1.259 seconds back in second while polesitter Ben Watkins, who led early, retired on the 27th lap after getting into the backstretch wall hard while battling with Pursley and Ferguson.
Quotable: “To be honest with you, we beat the quarterpanel and door out, and we left it alone," Ferguson said of his qualifying miscue. “That is just how good this car is right now. That was my goofup. I tried to go for the pole and didn’t get it.”
Key notes: Ferguson won two weeks ago on the Ultimate Series at Virginia Motor Speedway and last week in Carolina Clash action at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tenn. ... Lap 17 was hampered by three yellows, including when fifth-running Brandon Overton tangled with Ferguson and damaged his nosepiece; his car was towed away. ... Ronnie Hoover's spin on a lap-17 restart necessitated single-file restarts thereafter. ... Tim Allen retired after hitting the turn-four wall on the fourth lap to draw a caution. ... A wreck on the first start involved Kennie Compton Jr., Scott Shirey and Kyle Pierce. ... Compton started on the tail of the feature after crashing in time trials. ... The series made its 13th visit to Lancaster.
