Mike Reft picked up his career-richest victory at PPMS.
What won the race: Mike Reft of Whitehall Township, Pa., earned a career-high $4,110 Saturday at Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway with a victory in the 27th annual Jook George Memorial. Reft took the checkers 1.969 seconds ahead of Justin Lamb in the non-touring RUSH event for Crate Late Models.
Key notes: Fellow heat winners Daryl Charlier and John Mollick challenged Reft, but both retired. ... Reft lapped all but four competitors. ... PPMS hosted the biggest Crate Late Model event in track history. ... The track hosts the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and RUSH Dirt Late Model Series during the 28th annual Pittsburgher 100 weekend on Oct. 7-8.
