What won the race: Current points leader and reigning series co-champion Chris Kratzer of Haysville, Kan., won Saturday's National Championship Racing Association event at 81 Speedway, taking the checkers ahead of front-row starter Dusty Leonard.
Key notes: Kratzer has two series victories this season; the first came July 16 at the Kansas State Fairgrounds in Hutchinson, Kan. ... Kratzer led all but the third lap of the 15-lap feature; Lyle Shepard led that circuit. ... Shepard got too hight exiting turn two on the fifth lap and collected the fourth-running Delbert Smith when he returned to the track. Smith's spin triggered a caution. ... The only other caution appeared when Robert Shepard stalled early in the race. ... Jimmy Segraves was disqualified after finishing fifth. ... Four more series races remain, including Sept. 24 and Oct. 8 events back at 81 Speedway.
On the move: Dan Smith of Beloit, Kan., started seventh and finished fourth.
