Jeff Aikey won his sixth career Super Nationals event at Boone.
What won the race: Jeff Aikey of Cedar Falls, Iowa, notched his series-leading 68th career Deery Brothers Summer Series victory in capturing Boone Speedway's IMCA Super Nationals Late Model event for a record fourth consecutive season. Aikey overtook Joel Callahan on a lap-14 restart and went on to win by a straightaway in the Thursday evening special as he tightened the series points chase with Tyler Bruening.
Quotable: “This place just clicks for me. I just know how to get around here,” the 53-year-old Aikey said. “Winning is getting better. The older you get, the better the wins get.”
