What won the race: Turning back challenges from polesitter Jake Redetzke and track champion A.J. Diemel, Darrell Nelson of Hermantown, Minn., scored a repeat victory in the Late Model portion of Cedar Lake Speedway's Legendary 100, earning $5,000 in the season finale at the 3/8-mile oval. Nelson officially led all 40 laps of the main event.
Key notes: Nelson has won five Legendary 100 features between Late Models and modifieds. ... Polesitter and runner-up Jake Redetzke actually edged ahead on the initial second lap, but a caution erased the pass. ... A high-running A.J. Diemel went around Redetzke to take second midway through the feature, but Diemel slammed the turn-three wall while trying to overtake Nelson. ... Redetzke won the night's 20-lap preliminary feature that was postponed by rain Friday.
