What won the race: Dave Hess Jr. of Waterford, Pa., overtook polesitter Chub Frank of Bear Lake, Pa., on the final circuit to pick up the 40-lap ULMS victory at Eriez Speedway. Hess earned $4,000 in the first race of the September Sweep doubleheader.
Key notes: The victory was Hess's second ULMS score of the season and the sixth of his career. ... Charles Powell Jr. led the race's first five laps before being overtaken by Frank, who turned back Hess's late-race challenges until the fateful final circuit when Hess slipped ahead to win by a car length. ...
