Phillip Johnson grabbed his first Northwest Series victory.
What won the race: Phillip Johnson of Gresham, Ore., overtook early leader Ryan Bothwell, of Aurora, Ore., and raced to his first victory on the Northwest Extreme Crate Late Model Series. Johnson took the checkers ahead of his father, Jason.
Key notes: Daniel Modaff paced the field early but ran into problems and was the first retiree in the nine-car field. ... Johnson is the third winner in three series races this season and the 14th overall since the tour began in 2010.
