What won the race: Tyler Carpenter of Parkersburg, W.Va., charged from his seventh starting position to win a lengthy duel with early dominator Corey Conley and pick up a $3,000 victory in the STARS-sanctioned Harvest 50 at Skyline Speedway. Carpenter first took the lead on lap 26, but Conley regained the lead late with Carpenter edging back ahead to the lead the final six laps.
Quotable: "Congratulations to (Corey Conley), he was moving," winner Tyler Carpenter said. "Luckily I just ran him down. If it wasn't for lapped traffic, I didn't know how it was going to end up. ... I got him. The redraw, I was fast time and won my heat, and they redrawed me a seven, so I had to rip my way through 'em."
Key notes: Only four drivers finished on the lead lap. ... The race had four lead changes among three drivers. ... Runner-up Corey Conley led most of the way, building a huge lead after overtaking first-lap leader Zack Dohm. ... The lone caution flew for a three-car pileup in turn one on the third lap. ... Series action continues Saturday with a $5,000-to-win event at Atomic Speedway with $5 general admission.
