What won the race: Polesitter Jase Kaser of Lincoln, Neb., led every lap for a $1,000 victory in the season-opening event for the Nebraska-based Super Late Model Racing Series.
Key notes: Kaser turned back early pressure from Leon Zeitner of Lavista, Neb. ... Runner-up Tad Pospisil of Norfolk, Neb., looped his machine on a late-race restart and collected Josh Krug of Omaha, Neb.; Pospisil maintained his spot when the yellow flew because he did not stop on the track. ... The feature was slowed by three cautions, none of which were serious incidents. ... The tour's all-time winningest driver, Kyle Berck of Marquette, Neb., was the feature's first retiree in the opening laps. ... I-80 hosted the first of two weekend events for the tour, which opens it seventh season of competition at I-80 following a pair of May rainouts. ... The event was on the under card of the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series program won by Joey Saldana of Brownsburg, Ind. ... In total, the series will make four visits to I-80 this season, with future visits coming on July 17, Sept. 20 and Oct. 11.
On the move: John Anderson of Omaha, Neb., finished fourth after starting 13th; J.C. Wyman of Griswold, Iowa, passed a dozen cars en route to an eight-place finish.
