What won the race: Taking advantage of race-long leader Jensen Ford's miscue with four laps remaining, polesitter Trent Ivey of Union, S.C., earned $3,000 in Fastrak's Georgia State Championship. Ford's car pushed high in turn four, allowing Ivey to make the winning move.
Quotable: “I had to drive my butt off this afternoon just to stay in a position to win the race if the opening presented itself, and it did,” Ivey said. “I’ve always wanted to win a Fastrak race, and to win the Georgia State Championship Race in my first visit to Lavonia Speedway is pretty special."
Key notes: Jensen Ford of Piney Flats, Tenn., who started outside the front row, led 36 of 40 laps. ... Ford spun on the first lap with his car showing right-rear spoiler and quarterpanel damage, but he was restored to his starting spot and continued. ... Further back, Hot Rod Lamance and Dale Timms were among drivers caught up in chain-reaction contact and were knocked out of the race. ... Runner-up Cla Knight of North Augusta, S.C., became the first driver in Fastrak's 14-year history to win the Southern and Mid-Ohio Valley touring titles. ... Southeastern Sportsman Series drivers were also in action. ... The event was postponed a week by rain and five drivers didn't return: Adam Partain, Henry Hornsby III, Ronnie Mayle, Cody Pritchett and Taylor Puckett.
