What won the race: Jay Sale of Edmond, Okla., stayed perfect on the Sooner Late Model Series after two events with a Friday victory at Red Dirt Raceway. The fourth-starting Sale split front-row starters Sloppy Hogg and Steven Hawkins on the first lap and went on to a 25-lap victory over runner-up Gary Gorby.
Quotable: “Gary Gorby was right with me the whole way,” Sale said. “Several times he ducked underneath me and I guess I just had enough to stay out in front of him. I just figured out the high line and just stayed up there and it worked well for me.”
Key notes: The track, formerly Brill Motor Speedway, has been reconfigured as a shorter quarter-mile oval. ... Zack Nickell and Eric Brill weren't able to start the feature.
Winner's sponsors: Sale's No. 64 is sponsored by MJZ Trucking, Sale Physical Therapy and Johnson & Son Concrete.
Points chase: After two events, Jay Sale has 590 points to lead Steven Hawkins (435) and Logan Ellis (430).
