Dustin Mitchell led all the way for his $3,000 Fayetteville victory.
What won the race: Polesitter Dustin Mitchell of Pine Level, N.C., outran third-starting Matt Long of Concord, N.C., en route to a flag-to-flag victory worth $3,000 in the Fast Unified Engine Late Model Series-sanctioned Fast & Furious 40 at Fayetteville Motor Speedway.
Key notes: Mitchell earned his second career FUEL Series victory. His previous win came in last October's season-ending event at County Line Raceway in Elm City, N.C. ... Ben Watkins was the event's fast qualifier, but his car was felled by mechanical trouble coming to the white flag leading the dash; he didn't start the feature. ... Thirteen of the 20 starters finished on the lead lap.
On the move: Mark Dysart of Southern Pines, N.C., started 17th and finished eighth.
Winner's sponsors: Mitchell's Black Diamond Chassis is sponsored by Team Xtreme Tire & Auto, Carolina Comfort Air, Mac Tools and Donnie's Body Shop.
Points chase: Matt Long of Concord, N.C., moved into the series points lead by virtue of his runner-up finish.
Car count: 21
