What won the race: Polesitter Don Shaw of Ham Lake, Minn., outran fifth-starting John Kaanta of Elk Mound, Wis., for a $3,000 WISSOTA Shaw Trucking Challenge Series victory at Viking Speedway.
Key notes: Shaw scored his sixth career WISSOTA Challenge Series victory, his first since 2015, when he won three tour events. … The series returned to Viking for the first time since July 2009, when sixth-place finisher Pat Doar recorded a victory. … Steve Laursen was the winner of Friday’s WCS season-opener at I-94 Speedway in Fergus Falls, Minn; he finished 15th Saturday. … The series returns to action on June 1-4 with a four-day stretch of events at Dakota State Fair Speedway, Brown County Speedway and Casino Speedway.
On the move: Kent Arment of Aberdeen, S.D., advanced from the 12th starting spot to finish fourth. Marshall Fegers of Mound, Minn., started 14th and finished fifth.
