Will Vaught pocketed $3,000 for his victory near Muskogee, Okla.
What won the race: After suffering a flat-tire while running the top five during the feature's early stages, Will Vaught of Crane, Mo., quickly rallied from the tail, passing a dozen cars in two laps and taking the lead not long after. Vaught went on uncontested for a $3,000 MARS DIRTcar Series victory.
Key notes: A dry track surface was reworked prior to the feature and produced lightning quick and exciting racing. ... Kyle Beard tagged the wall on the second lap; Jason Hughes did the same just a few laps later. ... Jesse Stovall of Galena, Mo., won Friday's weekend opener at Midway Speedway in Lebanon, Mo. ... Saturday was the first of two series stops at Outlaw. ... MARS competitors return to Muskogee on Aug. 1 for another $3,000-to-win program.
On the move: Vaught rebounded from his misfortune by coming from the tail to record his eighth career MARS victory.
Winner's sponsors: Vaught drivers a Warrior Race Car powered by a Custom Race Engine with sponsorship from Circle M Auto Sales, Eibach Springs, GW Performance, Integra Racing Shocks, Midwest Sheet Metal, Peterson Fluid Systems, Port City Racing and Warrior Race Cars.
Points chase: Fourth-place finisher Tony Jackson Jr. of Lebanon, Mo., has 768 points to lead Justin Asplin (737) and Stovall (726).
