What won the race: Hometown driver Dustin Strand notched the first victory in a doubleheader sweep Friday evening at River Cities Speedway, earning $1,100 in the opener before capturing a feature from a June 16 makeup. Donny Schatz finished second in both 25-lappers.
Key notes: The doubleheader evening halted the three straight rainouts to start the NLRA season. ... Strand beat Schatz to the finish by .802 seconds. ... Strand built a lead of nearly three seconds before a late caution erased his advantage of the 10th-starting Schatz.
