Jared Miley earned $3,000 for his Thunder Mountain victory.
What won the race: Jared Miley of South Park, Pa., led all 30 laps Friday at Thunder Mountain Speedway for his sixth career ULMS victory. Miley took the checkers a half-second ahead of Max Blair, who improved seven spots.
Quotable: “This was a great way to start our weekend, for sure,” Miley said. “Our original plan was to race every night this weekend. The forecast looked like it was going to cause some problems during certain parts of the weekend, so we are taking things day by day.”
Key notes: The feature, which was moved up in the order to beat incoming weather, started about 9:15 p.m. ... Seven cautions slowed the action early in the 30-lapper. ... Thunder Mountain hosted the first event of a three-race weekend that will take competitors to Hesston (Pa.) Speedway and Eriez Speedway in Hammett Pa., as well. … Boom Briggs of Bear Lake, Pa., won an April ULMS event at Thunder Mountain that was cut short by rain.
