Jared Miley picked up $3,000 at Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway.
What won the race: Second-starting Jared Miley of South Park, Pa., battled polesitter Alex Ferree over the first half of the 30-lap feature before grabbing command out front for good on lap 14 and driving on to a $3,000 victory in the inaugural event on the Ultimate Northeast Series at PPMS.
Key notes: Ferree jumped out to lead the opening two laps before Miley slipped past to pace the third circuit. ... Ferree moved back out front on the fourth lap and held the position until lap 14 when Miley overtook him once again. ... Ferree slowed with a flat left-rear tire while running second after relinquishing the lead. ... Nine drivers completed all 30 laps and a dozen were running at the feature's finish. ... Colton Flinner and Chad Hollenbeck were among earlier retirees. ... PPMS hosted its first of two series events this season, with the second set for Aug. 26. … The track will offer a provisional for the 29th annual Pittsburgher 100 to Saturday’s highest finishing driver who returns to compete in the Oct. 7 event and fails to qualify. … Daryl Charlier won the RUSH Crate Late Model feature.
On the move: After suffering a flat tire while running second on lap 14, Alex Ferree of Saxonburg, Pa., climbed back from the tail to finish third.
