David Breazeale captured his second MSCCS victory of 2017.
What won the race: David Breazeale won Friday's MSCCS weekend opener at Greenville Speedway for his second tour victory of the season and 32nd of his career. Breazeale earned $2,000 in taking the checkers ahead ahead of series points leader Chad Thrash and Brian Rickman in the Midsummer Championship.
Key notes: Saturday concludes an MSCCS doubleheader at Greenville. ... Breazeale won his second MSCCS feature of the season, with his previous coming May 6 at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Miss. ... Prior to Friday's action, the series had been idle since June 10, when Brian Rickman won at Whynot. ... Greenville also hosts the $10,000-to-win Gumbo Nationals on Oct. 6-7, which serves as the MSCCS finale.
