Henry Hornsby III gets rolling before his victory at Princeton.
What won the race: Taking the lead from Walker Arthur following a lap-15 restart, Henry Hornsby III of Beckley, W.Va., led the rest of the way to win the Little General Stores UBB Qualifier Race at Princeton Speedway. Hornsby beat Benji Hicks of M. Airy, N.C., to the finish by 2.458 seconds, while Arthur settled for third. Hornsby earned $2,500 for the win.
Quotable: “When we into turn one on that lap-14 restart, (Walker) Arthur pushed up on (Benji) Hicks, and I wasn’t sure what to do, so I just mashed the gas,” Hornsby said. “To win one of these races is just incredible.”
Key notes: Hornsby went from fourth to first during restarts on lap 14 and lap 15. … Walker Arthur led laps 1-8; Benji Hicks led laps 9-13; Arthur led lap 14; Hornsby led laps 15-40. … Hornsby picked up his second career Fastrak touring victory. … Hornsby, Hicks, and Arthur are now guaranteed starting spots in Aug. 12's seventh annual Lewis Automotive Group/Little General Stores UBB 29 Miners Memorial Race at Princeton. … The feature was slowed by eight cautions. ... The race was the finale of Fastrak’s Triple Crown; Tyler Bare of Rockbridge Baths, Va., finished fourth and was crowned the Triple Crown champion.
