Trever Feathers heads to a $5,000 victory at his hometown track.
What won the race: Grabbing the lead on the 11th lap of the 35-lap feature, fourth-starting Trever Feathers of Winchester, Va., topped seventh-starting Keith Jackson of Odenton, Md., to win the Lee Stultz Memorial at Winchester Speedway. Feathers collected $5,000 for the victory.
Quotable: “Lapped cars actually did a pretty good job tonight,” Feathers said. "The track was really wide and racy tonight which left me plenty of options on how to get by, but we got through with no issues and here we are in victory lane again."
Key notes: The victory was the fourth for Trever Feathers at Winchester this season. ... After maneuvering through lapped traffic, Feathers then survived a lap-34 caution to secure the win. … Successfully defending his 2016 Lee Stultz Memorial win, Feathers joined his father Bo Feathers as the only two drivers to win the event back-to-back. Bo Feathers won the race in ’04 and ’05. ... The 35-lap main event is the scheduled third round of the Battle of the Bay miniseries, though two of three races in the second round were rained out and rescheduled. … This round of the nine-race miniseries, kicked off Thursday at Delaware International Speedway in Delmar with Dale Hollidge winning, before shifting to Potomac where Jason Covert won. … A July 29 rainout at Winchester (Va.) Speedway was rescheduled for Aug. 26. ... Picking up a victory in the Limited Late Model division, Kyle Lear drove to his first win at Winchester this season and 11th overall win in ’17.
