Quotable: "We've been working really hard for a long time," Frye said. "I don't get out here as much as I used to, but this was one of the places that made me who I am. I won my biggest races here — and I crashed my most race cars here — so it's bittersweet, but this is one of my favorite places to come and race."

Sheppard brought out one of the race's five caution flags. ... Earlier in the evening, Sheppard set a new track record. ... The 50-lapper was part of Bedford Fairgrounds oval’s 81st anniversary celebration. It race was originally scheduled for July 14 but rained out. … The race is dedicated to the memory of Billy Winn, a 2003 inductee of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and one of the top dirt racers of the 1930s. He won the first auto race at Bedford on Sept. 5, 1936, and competed eight times at the Indianapolis 500.
