What won the race: Brad Seng of Grand Forks, N.D., started on the pole and went on to win his second NLRA A-main of the season. Seng held off fellow front-row starter Ricky Weiss of Headingly, Manitoba, Canada, to pick up the $1,200 winner's check. Sixth-starting Bill Mooney of Selkirk, Manitoba, finished third.
Key notes: Seng's win snapped a two-race win streak by sprint car ace Donny Schatz of Fargo, N.D. ... The series kicked off the weekend Thursday at Red River Co-op Speedway in Winnipeg, Mantoba, where Schatz earned his third career NLRA victory. … Schatz won again Friday at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, N.D. … Dustin Strand, who won a pair of NLRA races at Devils Lake last season, had trouble and didn't finish his heat. Strand failed to start the A-main as well. ... Fourteen of the 20 starters finished the race. ... Weiss won his heat race from the seventh starting spot. ...
On the move: Matt Smith of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, finished fifth after starting 18th.
