Michael Norris won the Red Miley Rumble for the second straight season.
What won the race: Michael Norris of Sarver, Pa., recovered from a mid-race challenge by Alex Ferree of Saxonburg, Pa., for a victory in the 11th annual Red Miley Rumble Saturday at Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway. Norris led all the way except laps 15-18, when the runner-up Ferree edged ahead to take command in the unsanctioned 35-lapper. Norris earned $3,553 for winning the race for the second straight season.
Key notes: Norris, who on Friday night clinched his first-ever track title at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa., took the checkers nearly four seconds ahead of Alex Ferree. ... Third-place finisher Mark Whitener of Middleburg, Fla., piloted an Ernie Norton-owned car in his PPMS debut; he plans to field the Draime-powered Longhorn Chassis next at the World 100 with support from Ocala Restaurant & Supply. ... Daryl Charlier drove Matt Dobnak's regular ride in the main event, finishing fifth. ... Colton Flinner ran in the top five early but was collected by a slowing Tony Musolino. ...
