Andy Haus celebrates the richest victory of his career.
What won the race: Outrunning Jeff Rine of Danville, Pa., Andy Haus of Hamburg, Pa., led the entire 55-lap distance for a career-richest $5,055 victory in Bedford Speedway's Labor Day 55. Haus finished 0.941 seconds ahead of Rine.
Quotable: “It’s such an advantage here to be out in front in clean air and a clean track," said Haus. "You don’t have the dirt coming up. So as long as you can hold the line and be smooth, you’re in really good shape. I was catching the lapped cars and then all of the sudden we stopped so I don’t know if they got better or we got worse.”
Key notes: Haus currently sits second in Port Royal Speedway's weekly points standings; he scored a weekly victory at the Pennsylvania oval on Aug. 26. ... Matt Cosner of Ridgeley, W.Va., lowered the track record in time trials, clocking a time of 18.508 seconds. The previous record was held by Brandon Sheppard, who set quick time earlier this season in the Billy Winn Classic event. ... Cosner, who finished fourth in the Labor Day 55, has three victories at Bedford this season. ... Jeff Rine passed Dylan Yoder on the final lap to notch a runner-up finish.
Winner's sponsors: Haus drives a Rocket Chassis powered by a Miller Racing Engine and sponsored by CKC Trucking, Buck Rubs, Fastener Place, The Westy Bar & Grill, Litech, Riverfront Transportation, Lenig Coal Prep & Sales, Penske Shocks and Hoosier Tire.
