What won the race: Jeff Provinzino of Hibbing, Minn., rolled to a hometown victory Saturday night, claiming the 40-lap Shaw Trucking WISSOTA Challenge Series-sanctioned Miller-Davey Memorial at Hibbing Raceway. He beat John Kaanta of Elk Mound, Wis., to the finish line for the $3,000 top prize.
Key notes: Provinzino registered his eighth career WCS victory. ... The evening's program was completed despite rain that delayed the start of action. ... The event was the first of a doubleheader at Hibbing for the Shaw Trucking WISSOTA Challenge Series, which returns Sunday night to close out the season.
On the move: Three drivers advanced 14 positions: Terry Lillo of Duluth, Minn. (20th to sixth place), Rick Hanestad of Boyceville, Wis. (22nd to eighth) and Jeff Wildung of Nassau, Minn. (25th to 11th).
Points chase: After Saturday night's action, Kaanta has 640 points to lead the standings over Jake Redetzke (616), Jeff Wildung (604), Lance Matthees (594) and Rick Hanestad (591).
