Mark Whitener lofts his winner's checks high in victory lane.
What won the race: Mark Whitener of Middleburg, Fla., took the lead from Andrew Cole on the 22nd lap and led the rest of the 50-lap Crate Late Model feature at East Alabama Motor Speedway. Whitener's Alabama State Championship victory paid $5,000.
Key notes: The right-rear corner of Whitener's car showed extensive sheetmetal damage in victory lane. ... Whitener finished second in the 50-lap Limited Late Model feature behind Ronnie Johnson. ...
