Jeep Van Wormer (55) lapped all but three foes at Berlin.
What won the race: Taking command on an early restart, Jeep Van Wormer of Pinconning, Mich., cruised the rest of the 40-lapper on the dirt-covered asphalt at Berlin Raceway for a $7,500 victory, his first on the American Ethanol Late Model Tour. Van Wormer lapped all but three competitors and took the checkers 7.524 seconds ahead of series points leader Dona Marcoullier of Houghton Lake, Mich.
Quotable: "We just had a little bit harder tire than I think some of those guys did, and the car was just flawless," winner Jeep Van Wormer said.
Key notes: Van Wormer won his first Late Model feature since July 21, 2015, at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. It was his richest victory since a $10,000 triumph in World of Outlaws action on Aug. 16, 2013, at Winston Speedway in Rothbury, Mich. ...
