Cody Mahoney of Madison, Ind., finished second and Bailey, who piloted a tribute car to the late track owner, was third.
Key notes: Marlar, the younger brother of Knoxville Nationals winner Mike Marlar, captured his second Lake Cumberland victory of the season. He was the winner of the July 8 weekly show at the Burnside, Ky., oval. … The feature was slowed by four cautions. … The race paid tribute to long-time Lake Cumberland owner Harold Hardgrove, who bought the track in late 1997 and opened the track in 1998. He operated the speedway until his death in 2009. Hardgrove’s son Brandon and daughter Casey operate the track currently. … In its inaugural season, the Iron-Man Series has had 13 different winners in as many events. … Only two events remain on the 2017 series schedule. … Third-place finisher Tommy Bailey was the winner of the Iron-Man sanctioned modified feature.
Winner's sponsors: Marlar's JP Motorsports Club 29 Race Car is sponsored by Keyser Mfg., Mac Metal Sales and Jay Construction & Restoration.
