Jesse Glenz heads to his $2,000 victory in the MTH Fall Classic.
What won the race: Fourth-starting Jesse Glenz of Fall Creek, Wis., took the mid-race lead from outside front-row starter Jake Redetzke and kept a rallying James Giossi in check late to win Saturday's MTH Fall Classic at Ogilvie Raceway. Glenz earned $2,000 while, Jake Redetzke, last year's winner, finished third.
Quotable: "About five laps in I found a lane on the bottom that I was pretty smooth and could get around the ruts pretty good, and I could start making up some ground on the guys," winner Jesse Glenz said. "I just stayed after it."
Key notes: Glenz finished 1.352 seconds ahead of Giossi. ... Darrell Nelson was in the top five when he got together with Chad Mahder on a restart and ended up facing the wrong way on the frontstretch, ending his race. ... A Richard Thomas spin drew the caution before the restart. ... Twelve of the 22 starters finished the race. ... Polesitter Chad Mahder slipped to finish seventh. ... Zach Wohlers scratched from the feature. ... Friday's program was rained out, condensing the weekend doubleheader to a single Saturday show.
On the move: Runner-up James Giossi of New Richmond, Wis., rallied from his 11th starting spot.
Winner's sponsors: Glenz's MB Customs entry is sponsored by White City Glass, Brunzlick Trucking, The Volt, Otto Enterprises, Quality Truck & Auto Repair, Yellowstone Cheese, Mike's Star Market and Champ Pans.
Car count: 23
