What won the race: Polesitter Ross White of Knoxville, Tenn., fought off a late challenge from John Owenby at Boyd's Speedway on Sunday for a $3,500 victory in the second annual Craig Reece Memorial. Owenby's high-side bid on the final lap fell short at the third-mile oval.
Key notes: Cautions included a lap-four spin for Chip Brindle and Kyle Courtney slowing on lap 23. ... There was also a pileup on a lap-23 restart including Rusty Ballenger, Cruz Skinner, Jake Knowles, Josh Henry and Greg Martin. ... The race was postponed a day by inclement weather. ... White is the Volunteer Speedway champ in the Crate Late Model division. ... Cory Hedgecock of Loudon, Tenn., who finished ninth in the Crate feature, dominated with a flag-to-flag victory in the Limited Late Model main event with his 26th victory of 2017. ... Among drivers failing to make the Crate Late Model feature lineup: Ahnna Parkhurst, Josh Amacher, Clint Nichols and Josh Walker.
