Christian Hanger of Winchester, Tenn., won at Camden Speedway.
What won the race: Fast qualifier Christian Hanger of Winchester, Tenn., led all 40 laps from the pole at Camden Speedway on Friday for his first career NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series victory. Reigning tour champ Cory Hedgecock finished second followed by Grant Garrison in the Crate Late Model tour's season opener.
Key notes: Hanger won by 0.819 seconds. ... He led the 40-lapper comfortably most of the way, holding off Cory Hedgecock on a two-lap shootout to the finish after a late caution appeared. .... A multicar pileup on the initial start was the most serious of five yellow flags. ... Other cautions appeared for T.J. Brittain (lap three), Matt Henderson (lap 16), Jerry Green (lap 33) and Ben Brocato (lap 39).
On the move: Runner-up Cory Hedgecock of Loudon, Tenn., started seventh.
