RUSH winner Logan Roberson enjoys Potomac's victory lane with his father Greg.
What won the race: Logan Roberson of Waynesboro, Va., picked up a $2,000 victory in Friday night's 30-lap RUSH Dirt Late Model Series-sanctioned Battle of the Bay feature at Potomac Speedway. The young driver advanced to the front from the third starting spot to claim Round 3 of the Crate Late Model miniseries.
Quotable: "I just had to hold the steering wheel tonight. This thing is awesome. Ross (Robinson) is no slouch," Roberson said. "I tried everything in my books and luckily I got him. He had a good run and I'd like to thank him for running me clean. We raced hard and run aggressive, but that's how it goes in Crate racing. Nothing makes me prouder when I pull into victory lane and see the smile on my mom and dad's face. I couldn't ask for anything else."
Key notes: The victory was Roberson's first on the RUSH tour. ... Roberson, last season's RUSH weekly points champion, recorded the 50th overall win of his career. ... Ross Robinson finished second one night after winning the RUSH event at Georgetown (Del.) Speedway. ... Amanda Whaley was running third when she dropped out of the event with just nine laps to go. ... The four race miniseries wraps up Saturday night at Winchester (Va.) Speedway with another $2,000-to-win event.
On the move: Chuck Bowie of Walton, Md., started 11th and finished fifth.
Winner's sponsors: Roberson's Rocket XR1 chassis is sponsored by Cecil B. Arthur Beef Farm & Bucking Stock, Blue Ridge Treescape Service, Wells Custom Jeep, Winbridge Inc., Beyea Custom Headers, Keyser Manufacturing and Dirt Defender.
Points chase: Max Blair entered the event as the points leader.
