What won the race: Winning a race-long battle with polesitter Brian Carswell, Ricky Weeks of Rutherfordton, N.C., took the lead for good as the pair raced through lapped traffic just past the halfway mark Friday at Antioch Speedway. Weeks led the rest of the way for a $1,200 Blue Ridge Outlaws Late Model tour victory while, Carswell, a two-time series winner, finished second.
Key notes: Antioch hosted the Blue Ridge tour for the second of a series-high seven visits this season. ... The event was the first of the tour’s Memorial Day weekend Three Days of Thunder, which has its own $3,000 points fund for events at Antioch, East Lincoln Speedway in Stanley, N.C., and Harris Speedway in Rutherfordton, N.C. … The winner of the three-race miniseries earns an additional $1,000, with second through fifth each receiving a share. … … Weeks and Carswell are the tour's only repeat winners this season.
