Ricky Weeks picked up a $1,200 victory at East Lincoln.
What won the race: Third-starting Ricky Weeks of Rutherfordton, N.C., raced to his second straight Blue Ridge Outlaw Late Model feature victory in as many days. Weeks outran polesitter Brandon White Saturday to win his third series race of the season while earning a $1,200 payday.
Quotable: “The track was awesome, especially with all this rain we’ve had,” said runner up Brandon White. “We just made the wrong call on adjustments. We should’ve done a little bit more tightening (the car’s setup) instead of freeing up. Overall it was a good night. Finishing second to Ricky Weeks, your childhood hero, ain’t a bad night.”
Key notes: Weeks, who has a series-leading three victories, won Friday at Antioch (N.C.) Speedway. His previous win came March 31 at Lancaster (S.C.) Speedway. … Series points leader Brian Carswell of Valdese, N.C., finished 13th after starting on the outside front row. Carswell, who has two wins and four runner-up finishes, hadn’t finished worse than eighth this season. … Through nine series events, there have been six different winners. ... East Lincoln hosted its lone Blue Ridge Outlaw Late Model Series race of the season, the second of a three-race Memorial Day weekend stretch for the series. … The tour’s tripleheader, dubbed Three Days of Thunder, has it’s own $3,000 points fund paying the winner $1,000 while dividing the rest among the top five.
On the move: Dylan Davis of Iron Station, N.C., started 16th and finished seventh.
Winner's sponsors: Weeks drives a Longhorn Chassis sponsored by Parton Lumber, AFCO and Phyllis Ikey.
Points chase: Entering the weekend, Brian Carswell of Valdese, N.C., was atop the tour standings.
