What won the race: Max Blair of Centerville, Pa., charged from the seventh starting spot to overtake Matt Lux on lap 14 and led the rest of the 40-lap Shawn "Sheetz" McGarvey Memorial at Dog Hollow Speedway. Blair earned $4,000 in the Zimmer's United Late Model Series event which was pushed back one day by Mother Nature.
Key notes: The victory was Max Blair's second straight on the ULMS tour and the 11th of his career; it moved him into second place on the tour's all-time win list behind only his father Rob Blair. ... Max Blair also won the tour's Memorial Day weekend opener at Freedom Motorsports Park on Friday. ... Dan Angelicchio moved into second on lap 22. … The race struggled to get into a rhythm as caution after caution slowed the event in the early going; the yellow flew six times in the first six laps. ... Other cautions flew on laps 10, 21 and 25. ... During the event, promoter Dan Savino announced the track will switch to Saturday night racing for the remainder of the season beginning on June 9. ... Dog Hollow has two more ULMS dates scheduled on July 27 and and Sept. 2.
On the move: Charles Powell Jr. of Brookville, Pa., won the first consolation event and finished seventh in the main event.
