What won the race: Reclaiming the lead from Steve Stultz with two laps remaining, polesitter John Cornell of Phoenix, Ariz., won his sixth SWDRA feature of the season Sunday at Arizona Speedway. Stultz settled for second in the caution-free 25-lapper after leading laps 20-23.
Key notes: Cornell, who led the first 19 laps and then the final two, won by a half-second margin. ... Runner-up Steve Stultz started outside the front row and used the high groove to get around Cornell with six laps remaining. ... James Webster started eighth and was flirting with the top five when engine problems forced him out early. ... Cornell hasn't finished worse than second in eight SWDRA events to date this season. ... In Saturday's opener for the John Morris Classic twinbill, Craig Parker overtook Brad Williams for an SWDRA victory. ... Series competitors return to Queen Creek on Aug. 18, Oct. 20 and Nov. 10.
