What won the race: Winning his first series race since 2014, two-time tour champ Chris Wall of Springfield, La., earned $2,500 on Saturday at Jackson Motor Speedway on the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series. Wall took the lead from polesitter Clay Fisher in the race's late stages and fought off Fisher's last-lap charge.
Key notes: Wall, racing again semi-regularly after stepping away from the sport for a few seasons, earned his series-leading 45th career victory. ... Wall's previous series victory came at Jackson in 2014. ... There was a single caution to dig a buried driveshaft out of the frontstretch racing surface. ... Jackson hosted the series for the 27th time.
On the move: Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, Miss., started eighth and finished fourth.
Winner's sponsors: Wall's Black Diamond Chassis is sponsored by C&M Gator Farm, Wallhanger TV, PRP Suspension and Lucas Oil Products.
Points chase: After Jackson, Chad Thrash of Meridian, Miss., leads MSCCS points (870) followed by Brian Rickman (855) and Neil Baggett (850).
