What won the race: Becoming the first series driver to win four straight series races, Ricky Weeks of Rutherfordton, N.C., captured Saturday's Blue Ridge Outlaw Series event at 311 Motor Speedway. Weeks took control on the third lap when fast qualifier Brian Carswell had mechanical issues.
Quotable: "I really hard (Brian Carswell) is having bad luck, because I know how it is. Been there, done that. That's no fun at all," winner Ricky Weeks said. "I guess luck's win preparation meets opportunity, so I guess I feel we're prepared to take advantage of things like that. But, like I said, I really hate that for them guys because that's really disheartening."
Key notes: Weeks has five series victories overall. ... Weeks broke a fuel pump belt qualifying and another team loaned him a replacement; he missed the dash. ... Weeks won at a track where he had one the worst wreck of his career in Carolina Clash competition six years earlier. ... Fast qualifier and dash winner Brian Carswell led early but ended up retiring after 17 laps. ... Jamison McBride won the three-car feature for 602 Crates.
Winner's sponsors: Weeks drives a Longhorn Chassis sponsored by Parton Lumber, AFCO, American Race Tires, Renegade Fuels and Phyllis Ikey.
