Clinton Hersh heads to victory in Cumberland, Md.
What won the race: Polesitter Clinton Hersh of Somerset, Pa., raced to his first Mason-Dixon Shootout Series victory Saturday at Greater Cumberland Raceway. Hersh took the checkers for a $1,000 payday ahead of Eric Irvin and Jeremy Ohl.
Key notes: Fifteen cars were running at the finish in the tour's first stop at the 5/8-mile oval. ... Another first-time Mason-Dixon winner, Devin Hart won Friday's feature at Path Valley Speedway in Spring Run, Pa. ... The series has had six winners in as many events this season. ... Greater Cumberland hosts the tour again on Aug. 25.
On the move: Eric Irvin of Petersburg, Pa., started sixth and finished second.
