What won the race: Driving to his fourth NCRA victory of the season, third-starting Cory Dumpert of York, Neb., won Saturday’s 62nd annual Hutch Nationals at the Kansas State Fairgrounds. Dumpert topped sixth-starting Delbert Smith of Wichita, Kan., to win $1,500.
Key notes: Dumpert won his second-straight series race. His other wins came at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kan., and twice at Thunder Hill Speedway in Mayetta, Kan. … Dumpert snapped the two-race Hutch Nationals win streak of Chris Kratzer of Haysville, Kan., who finished fourth. … Polesitter Dusty Leonard of Marysville, Kan., finished 10th. … The 62nd annual event was sponsored by O’Reilly Auto Parts and presented by Allen Samuels automotive group. … The Late Model portion of the Hutchinson Grand Nationals began in 1974.
